Save the Children is the leading UK charity working to create
a better world for children. We currently work in 70 countries
(including the UK), helping children in some of the world’s
most impoverished communities.
Save the Children (UK) is part of the International Save
the Children Alliance which aims to be a truly international
movement for children There are 29 independent Save the Children
organisations which form the International Save the Children
Alliance. Together, the Alliance works in over 100 countries
worldwide, sharing the same vision, mission and values.
Our mission
Save the Children fights for children’s rights and delivers
immediate and lasting improvements to children’s lives world-wide.
The work of Save the Children
Save the Children works in the UK and across the world.
Emergency relief runs alongside long-term development and prevention
work to help children, their families and communities to be
self-sufficient. We learn from the reality of children's lives
and campaign for solutions to the problems they face, for example
through Save the Children’s current Beat Poverty campaign.
We gain expertise through our projects round the world and use
that knowledge to educate and advise others.
Citizenship Education
Save the Children UK’s global child rights education
programme is committed to promoting global citizenship education
in schools and with youth organisations across the UK through
in-service support, free and priced resources. The website provides
a wealth of teaching and youth materials plus lesson plans and
details of Speaking Out, the free speaker service for schools,
young people and adult groups.
