A letter for me! is a tale that introduces readers to some of the cultures and customs of children who have taken part in the Giangukai global school-linking project.

The name Giangukai comes from Senegal, West Africa. It is the Wolof word for school.

Within the story, a number of global development issues are also introduced. A letter for me! gives an opportunity to explore these concerns at greater depth and so illustrates some of the challenges faced by children around the world today.
