| TENDENCY
TOWARDS UNITY |
|
The
prospect of globalisation, the world seen as a ‘global
village’, and the awareness of interdependence (even
though asymmetrical) between peoples and nations,
all imply the need to overcome differences, so as
to identify aspects which human beings have in common.
Therefore, to overcome nationalism and search for
shared values, it is necessary to go beyond existing
conflicts and the models of representation peculiar
to each culture. The construction of a common link
between human beings (or between as as many of them
as possible) can only stem from the respect and
valuing of difference, and it is hoped will result
in the building of a world culture.
From this point of view, it may be useful to work
with the children on all topics that help to create
the characteristics of unity, ie, the characteristics
that have the same value, both in time and space,
regardless of numerous differences. |
